my friend matt is a music guru – he always is attempting to keep me up to speed on music, but to be honest he is way too advanced for me… so here is my attempt to share one of his finds with you.  If you like the format you probably will love this because it is the same lead singer Nate Ruess – they have a unique sound encompassing everything from rock to orchestra etc

fun. is an indie pop band based in New York, New York that was formed by Nate Ruess, formerly of The Format. Ruess formed the band with Andrew Dost of Anathallo and Jack Antonoff of Steel Train.[1] fun. began recording their debut album in September 2008 with producer Steven McDonald, and arranger Roger Joseph Manning Jr., the former keyboardist of Jellyfish. [2]

A demo of the first song recorded by the band, “Benson Hedges”, can be downloaded from Spin‘s September 20, 2008 article on the band.[3]

fun. began its first North American tour on November 8, 2008 with Jack’s Mannequin.[4]

The single “At Least I’m Not As Sad (As I Used To Be)” was released in stores and on iTunes May 5. The song can also be streamed on[5]

Their album Aim and Ignite was released on August 25, 2009.[6]
