British Vogue 05/83
Photographer: Patrick Demarchelier
Model: Bonnie Berman
I was flipping through Australian Vogue and saw an article on this fashion editorial from 1983. What really caught my attention was the white shirt looking jumpsuit. I thought it was the perfect reinvention of a t-shirt and want to attempt my own recreation.
Quote from Vogue 2009 on these images “Early-Eighties fashion was still hitched to the tail end of the seventies, and funny or off-beat and bewildering. Demarchelier’s photographs, however; rejoiced in a breezy naturalism that needed no eludication.”

Pictures photographed by Mariano Vivanco for Wonderland’s October 2010 issue… I particularly like the saturation, tones, and fashion styling in this editorial… and even though all the Megan Fox hype is out of control, I will be the first to admit I am in awe of her radiant beauty. She is a nuance pinup- modern, sexy, fresh. Megan Fox does not look jaded for her “rebel without a cause” reputation. For being so sexy and “bad”, to me she seems wholesome and relatable? anyways… enjoy these memorable photographs of miss foxy herself…

^the chunky oversized jewelry, rich deep jewel tones, and her glowing skin is a recipe for an unbelievable photo-shoot. The styling is also interesting – I like the juxtaposition of luxury metals & fabrics against the rustic desert landscape.

Today, Shannon and I went to Cockatoo Island for a comedy festival. Aussie humor is very different than in the US or Britain. I can’t really describe it – obviously, they have their comedy has unique references and inside jokes… :) The coolest part of today was being able to understand the aussie context, which is only possible thanks to living here nearly five months. Definitely picked up some aussie stereotypes, that I hadn’t really thought anything of. Some jokes had me laughing uncontrollably and others left me feeling so awkward :/ but I guess that’s the beauty in Australian Humour
Cockatoo Island was an experience in itself – here is a bit from wiki
Cockatoo Island is the largest island in Sydney Harbour in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Located at the junction of the Parramatta and Lane Cove rivers, Cockatoo Island is a former imperial prison, industrial school, reformatory and gaol. It is also the site of one of Australia’s biggest shipyards during the twentieth century. The first of its two dry docks was built by convicts and was completed in 1857. The island’s maritime industrial activity ceased in 1992.
In late March 2005 the island was re-opened to the public for the ‘Cockatoo Island Festival’, after two and a half years of planning. The island is currently managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust who are currently revitalising the island as a landmark harbour attraction, with commercial maritime activity operating alongside interpretation of the island’s heritage. Today Cockatoo Island retains many remnants of its past. Its prison buildings have been nominated for World Heritage listing, along with other convict sites around Australia. Large workshops, slipways, wharves, residences and other buildings retain the texture of the island’s industrial past.
^We saw Austen Tayshus – maybe it will give you a taste of the aussie humor??
^this one is from a youtube search on australian humor – seems about right… :)

Happy First Birthday Keenanevans.wordpress.com :)

Last year on September 30th I came home from work and told my roomie Ryan that I wanted to start a blog. Not knowing anything about blogs… or really what I was going to blog about…I went to wordpress.com and started up Keenanevans. I was convinced wordpress was the best because I didn’t want the word BLOG to be any part of my site – because as some of you may know I think the word BLOG sounds ugly. Ha, last year September 29, 2008 was definitely a turning point in my life. I started documenting my personal creative progressions and likings. I remember begging Erika to run around Soho with me at night to take my banner picture :) haha I am so dumb.
Anyways, I am proud of how far this website has come and am very excited and anxious about my future in design. Words don’t express how thankful and lucky I am to have such a supportive community of family and friends. Being so far away from home this dorky website has helped me feel connected and tied to home, my past, and share a piece of me with you.
This post is a collaboration of photographs that I am using right now on a project I will hopefully be able to share shortly and others I currently enjoy. Visual Bon Appetite
