When I was in starbucks the other day  (sorry for being a sell out) I heard several well-done cover songs… Thanks to the internet I discovered Starbucks has put together a new cover album “Sweethearts” of several indie musicians covering their favorite love songs.

Sweethearts is due to be released on January 30th.  Most of the covers aren’t even on youtube yet – Here are two I was able to track down.

I have to say my favorite cover I heard were not even on this album but it was Peter Gabriels “In Your Eyes” – hopefully it will surface soon.  For now check out these and see if it may be something you like.

The compilation includes an armful of quality indie artists performing their favorite love songs. Starting off with Death Cab for Cutie’s cover of The Cure’s “Love Song” and ending with Lila Down’s cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My One and Only Love”, the 14-tracks certainly pull from some of the industry’s greatest artists.
