Designer Caron Callahan’s SS 2010 collection for her label, Standard Finery. Images photographed in New England seascapes. I love the delicate dresses (the one with the ribbon straps), her relaxed blazer s and the midriff tops with high waisted shorts. Her collection is classic, airy and feminine. These pieces are subtle yet still fashion forward. Summer love is definitely pretty with standard finery.

Standard [stad-derd] 1. a rule or principle that is regarded as the usual or most common size or form of its kind 2. an average or normal requirement, quality, quantity, level, grade, etc.
Finery [fahy-nuh-ree] 1. fineness, beauty 2. adornments, especially fine clothes and accessories
“Inspiration for Spring 2010 came first from a photo of a quiet beach in CapCod with a sensual mood and a spirit of impending fun. Reinterpreting classic New England weekend wears became a springboard for the collection and evolved to include graphic details such as black binding, giving it a more urban appeal. The moody vocals and lyrics of Bill Callahan’s latest album Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle established the atmosphere for the ease and subtly of the overall collection.” – Standard Finery
